New Bridge - Solstice Park

A new bridge was required to take a local road over the A303 as part of the adjoining business park development.

Carillion Piling installed piles to support the new bridge over the A303 at Amesbury. These piles were heavily reinforced to resist large lateral loads from the bridge abutments. Unusually a preliminary pile testing programme was undertaken to verify the horizontal load capacity of these piles. In order to check the integrity of the pile concrete, all piles were fitted with sonic testing tubes to permit sonic integrity testing.
